The Baker House 1650 is taking beach reads to a new level with Hamptons Reading Weekend. Wake up in a luxurious bedroom with curated books on hand and a full breakfast awaiting. From March 1 through 3, the boutique inn’s special weekend package serves to encourage relaxation and recall a childhood love of stories.
Besides two nights in a luxury room (from $909) with breakfast each day, the offering also includes one set of books by visiting authors, entry to five book signing events, a $100 dining credit to acclaimed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s farm-to-table Topping Rose House restaurant and a welcome gift bag.
A mixture of vacation reads ranging from thrillers to romance, the featured books include Amy Impellizzeri’s Why We Lie, Kristy Woodson Harvey’s The Secret of Southern Charm, Sandra Block’s What Happened That Night, Kelly Simmons’ The Fifth of July and Amy Reichert’s The Optimist’s Guide to Letting Go. All five authors are part of The Tall Poppies, a female author-driven marketing cooperative, and will appear at book signing events during the weekend. Guests can also mingle with their fellow book lovers at two cocktail parties and a tea tasting event.
