Antonella Bertello's festive party celebrates Peru’s heritage and traditions at The Baker House 1650 in East Hampton, NY. This event will give you a short tour of Peru, its culture, traditions and its beauty in East Hampton. Here are a few glimpses of this event:
- Strings of colorful pom-poms are used to decorate the party and repeated which simply mimics quipu, which is an ancient Incan counting device of Peru
- Guests enjoyed a beautiful dance performance by Stefano Herrera and Rosangel Conde They performed a marinera dance for the guests which are quite famous in Peru
- Dancers Stefano Herrera, Rosangel Conde, and Angel Conde were wearing the native Andean dress
- Giancarlo Islas was dressed in attire for performing Huayno, an Andean dance
- Rosangel Conde was also dressed in attire for the performance
- Yuri Juárez is a famous guitarist in his native Peru also entertained the guests
- Sarah Loewenberg and Russ Steele were seen enjoying the music
- What attracted the most was Antonella Bertello and her mother, Pepa Bertello. They both were reflecting the real culture of Peru by wearing traditional Peruvian ribboned braids
- Bertello’s niece, Carolina Braedt were wearing an Andean mask and headpiece...
- Carolina Braedt’s boyfriend, Bruno Vega, was also wearing an Andean mask and headpiece
- Guests were donned with alpaca-wool chullos (Andean hats with earflaps) and fajas, or belts during the dance
- Guests enjoyed authentic Peru buffet meal prepared by Paterson, New Jersey’s Peru Mixtura restaurant
- The amazing aroma of beef skewers on the grill was irresistible
- Guests were made aware of the national dish of Peru, i.e. Pachamanca that consists of slow-cooked meats and vegetables. This dish is an ancient homage to Mother Earth

- In addition to pachamanca, what guests liked so much was the plate of grilled skewered beef with potatoes and choclo, or giant Peruvian corn, and refreshing Cusqueña beer
- They had arranged a variety of wonderful desserts that includes a caramel pudding and mazamorra morada, a pudding made with purple corn and pineapple
- There was a mousse made with lúcuma, a Peruvian fruit
- Alfajores that are delicate cookies filled with dulce de leche
- Party favors for guests included miniature Peruvian flags and Andean tambores, decorated with vibrant Peruvian scenes

- Last but not least, guests were served with a variation on the pisco sour. It is a refreshing drink that calls for the addition of passion-fruit puree. Its ingredients include 2oz. pisco, 1oz. simple syrup, 1oz. passionfruit puree, 1 egg white, 5 ice cubes, and Angostura bittersMethod: In a blender or cocktail shaker, mix first five ingredients together and shake vigorously for 30 seconds to a minute. Pour into a glass and garnish with a few drops of Angostura bitters.
