48 Hours in the Hamptons
The Hamptons has so much to offer when you need to retreat from the hustle and bustle of life. If you’re here at The Baker House for a quick short getaway excursion, it can feel overwhelming trying to fit so many activities in to just one weekend away, so we’ve compiled a list of some favored guest activities. Here’s how to make the most of 48 hours in the Hamptons:
Day 1:
Afternoon: Arrive to your hamptons destination. Here at the hotel, check starts at 3pm. Drop off your luggage, nestle in or explore the grounds with a glass of wine in hand. For those of you wine lovers, sip and savor one our Hamptons' renowned wineries, like Wölffer Estate Vineyard or Channing Daughter’s Winery.
Evening: Wind down with a sunset cocktail during our in house Aperitivo cocktail hour Fridays and Saturdays from 5-8pm in our private courtyard. Walk to neighboring restaurants such as the Palm or the 1770 House for dinner with a charm of historic Hamptons culture. Alternatively head to town and enjoy farm-to-table dining at Nick & Toni’s.
Day 2:
Morning: After breakfast at the hotel, kick off your day with a stroll through East Hampton's Main Street. Explore boutique shops, art galleries, and grab a latte from Carissa's Bakery or Tutto Café.
Afternoon: For a more cultural experience visit the Parrish Art Museum holding the largest collection of artists from the east end spanning the past two centuries.
Evening: Wind down with a sunset cocktail at The Surf Lodge, known for its laid-back vibe and live music.
Day 3
Morning: Start with a scenic drive to Montauk. Visit the historic Montauk Point Lighthouse for breathtaking ocean views and hike around Camp Hero. Head to Main Beach for some sunbathing or surfing. For a more secluded experience, check out Georgica Beach. As guests of the hotel, we do offer day passes you’ll need as a parking permit.
Pro Tips:
Timing is everything: Avoid traffic by arriving early Friday or late Saturday morning.
Reservations are key: Popular restaurants and hotels book quickly, especially in summer.
Pack smart: Bring layers—ocean breezes can be cool, even in warm weather.
Whether you’re chasing waves, fine wine, or a little R&R, the Hamptons offers a dreamy weekend escape just a short drive from the city.
